4.5 hours in a minibus before a 3 hour boat trip seems to be a bit of false advertising. Bus and boat crew etc were all great and the food was good and plentiful.
This tour was not as advertised. Also, the tour company was unorganized. We confirmed with them via the provided phone number the night before and got confirmation they would be at our hotel at 8am to pick us up. The next morning, no one showed up. After multiple phone calls they finally found our reservation and sent someone to pick us up at 8:45. It turns out the Phnom Penh office had our reservation, but failed to tell the Siem Reap office. So they sent someone to pick us up and race us 45 min down the road to the van that had left without us, while the people who had been picked up waited they were not happy either that they had to sit and wait for us. Once we got in the van, we started driving...and driving...and driving. I asked when we were going to get to the boat that was supposed to take us to Phnom Penh and the guide said they don't have a boat that takes us to Phnom Penh, we drive 5 hours down there and then get on a boat and have lunch. The way this tour was advertised was we would be taking a boat to PP, not driving down there and getting on a boat for the last 10 miles. Besides telling us that they don't have a boat that goes from SR to PP, the tour guide didn't say one word to us. I would not recommend this trip or the company.
Board trip was fun, lunch was great...
A bit surprising, and a little disappointing was the 4 hr van ride to meet the boat!
It wasnt clear on booking that that was the case..
What a great way to see the Cambodian countryside. We had a private transfer as only my husband and I on both the bus and boat. Our guide stopped on the side of the road to buy sticky rice cooked in bamboo for morning tea. Our driver was excellent and was calm and steady amongst the city and country traffic. Arriving to our boat, again just the two of us, we enjoyed a nice lunch with cold beer as we travelled down the river. Our guide was knowledgable but gave plenty of space to relax and enjoy the ride. Although a big day of travel would highly recommend this transfer. Much better than a short plane trip.
